經過點算,這次行山籌款日共籌得$12,308.00,將全數用作支持「使者」的學生事工和服務。
僅代表所有有份參與行山籌款的健兒和他們的贊助人。

敢攀逆旅 Hikathon 完滿完成!



籌備多時的「敢攀逆旅 Hikathon」行山籌款日已經在昨日完滿完成了!當天有差不多一百位健兒與我們一同挑戰在北溫Lynn Headwaters Regional Park的Lynn Loop Trail,場面浩盪。

當天我們更邀請參賽者進行photo hunt遊戲,一面行一面尋找各樣指定物品。從我們收到的過千張相片中,我們選出了得獎者:由Chi-Kin Ho領軍的第12組!他們將會每人獲得一張免費電影票。不如欣賞一下他們的入圍照片。



當我們完成點算後,便會公佈善款的總數字,請密切留意!

Important details you need to know before attending our hiking event:

Date: June 21, 2008 (Saturday)
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Location: Lynn Headwaters Regional Park
Meeting Place: The parking lot at the end of Lynn Valley Road.

Things to bring on a hike checklist

What to pack for your tummy?
- Light snack/lunch
o i.e. energy bar, chocolate bar, granola bar, dried fruits; NOT chips!! – sodium will dehydrate you even more!
o when you hike, you might get low in energy or hungry, fast sugar intake can give instant energy
- Have a good breakfast before you come!!! No empty stomach is welcomed for hiking!
- WATER!!!

What to pack for your backpack?
- Backpack/waist bag – yes, it’s better to use a backpack than handbags for hiking because you will then have free hands for balancing and grabbing.
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- A hat, or cap
- Small towel
- Whistle
- Cell phone – remember to charge the battery the night before!
- Camera – for PhotoHunt!!!
- Notebook and pen
- Flashlight
- Hiking pole (if anyone feel necessary)
- Compass or GPS (if anyone feel necessary)

What’s to wear?
- Wear smart – WARM AND LIGHT
- Comfortable shirt & pants – wear layers
- Hiking boots; at least, runners with strong grip at the bottom
- Socks
- Raingear/windbreaker

What’s not to wear?
- No big heavy jacket
- No sandals

What’s in your First-Aid pack?
- Insect repellent and after bite
- Bandage
- Lip protection
- Medication that you need – e.g. allergy medications


Rules and Regulations

- participants cannot change groups without permission from AFC Staffs; the groups are for us to keep your safety, we will do our best to arrange you with your friends.

- please respect your group leader. As there are activities and competitions during the hike, your participation and cooperation is required of.

- throughout the hike, please behave accordingly. Any attempts to put yourself or others at risk are not acceptable. Use your common sense.

- this is a wild park, meaning there are free-roaming animals, pay extra precautions.

- feeding wild animals are prohibited.

- do not litter or pollute the natural environment

How to get there:
To get to Lynn Headwaters, take the Second Narrows bridge or Lion's Gate bridge, and get onto the Trans Canada Highway (Upper levels) heading West if approaching from Second Narrows, East from Lions Gate. Take the Lynn Valley Road exit off the Upper Levels Highway and follow Lynn Valley Road north, past the turnoff to Lynn Canyon Park, to the end.
